REFLECTING

What I have struggled for a while in my life and journey thus far is reflecting and creating routines for myself. It is very important to sit down and reflect on what you have achieved or have not achieved this far of the week, month, and year. Reflecting should also correlate with your short and long-term goals. Reflection is a very important part of the learning process and also helps to provide deeper learning by looking at situations through a different lens and by asking yourself searching questions that challenges one's assumptions about the world around you. The prime day to reflect is on a Sunday night. On a journal evaluate your performance and list everything you did well and executed at a high level this past week and then list all the areas you need to improve upon this coming week, thus you then create a baseline and can set your personal performance expectations. By doing this you can firsthand witness if you are moving closer towards your goals or what can be further improved for the following week.

CREATING ROUTINES

It is crucial for you to create routines that you stick by day in day out. Routines are a system of execution to help you further accomplish your goals/visions. The attitudes and behaviors you create must be incorporated in your monthly, weekly, and daily routines to affect any real, positive change. The routines you create is something you should do every day without fail, so eventually you can do it without conscious thought. If you look at anything you do that has brought you success, you'll see that you've most likely developed a routine for it. In order to reach new heights and develop new habits, it's necessary to create new routines to support your objectives. As stated in The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, "The greater the challenge, the more rigorous our routines need to be." A successful daily routine built on good habits and disciplines separates the most successful among us from everyone else. You should develop a daily routine that works specifically towards your needs and goals. A morning routine that works for you as well as a before bed routine that stays constant. Occasionally it is also good to mix up your daily routines so it doesn't get dull and boring.
